The 1 pm “The Iceman” competitive team draw is also cancelled for today.

There will be an announcement by  2 pm on whether or not the evening draws will go.

Daytime curling (10 am-12 noon)  and “The Iceman” 1 pm team curling  are cancelled for today due to weather and road conditions. There will be a further announcement regarding evening draws, at 2 pm.

It’s business as usual for the Cornwall Curling Club today, with regular draws taking place.

The 2010 Rodd Hotels and Resorts/Greco Pizzas bonspiel took place this weekend, with a Newfoundland theme.  Full report later.

It’s playoff time in the Tuesday night KFC competitive league!

Teams were divided into 2 Pools according to the standings recorded. There are still a few remaining games to be played.  Those that are planning on playing those games should inform the drawmaster so they can be recorded for statistic purposes.

Rules will remain the same as set up for the Tuesday draw with the exception of the scoring system.
 
Scores will be recorded as follows:
 
3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss and 0 points for a default
 
Scores will be kept as well, to be used only in the end-of-round tie resolution.  In the event of a default, the non-defaulting team will receive a score of one point for each scheduled end.  No Ties- Skips will draw to the button (with sweeping) to resolve individual game ties.  Only the throwing team may sweep the rock – the opposing team may not sweep behind the tee.

This weekend’s Rodd Hotels and Resorts/Greco Pizza Bonspiel will have a  Newfie theme on Friday and players are encouraged to dress the part.  There will be trivia, lots of Newfoundland  music, and a Screeching-in ceremony for those who dare to participate.

Greco Pizza will be provided Friday night.  There will be breakfast Saturday morning,  with lunch and supper to follow.  Anyone who has a crokinole board or other games can bring them along for Saturday.
