Ron MacKinley leaving politics, proud of investment in local facilities such as our Club

Ron MacKinley announced today that he will not be reoffering in the next election, after 29 years as the MLA for Cornwall-Meadowbank. Mr. MacKinley has been a great supporter of our Club, both in the reconstruction project and in keeping us apprised of any grants and funding opportunities which become available. In his news release today, he said that he is “most proud” of “the new and expanded infrastructure for Westwood Primary School, Eliot River Elementary School and East Wiltshire Intermediate School;  as well as investments in our community facilities, namely the APM Centre, Cornwall Curling Club, Terry Fox Sports Complex and the North River Fire Department.”

Mr. MacKinley visited our Club many times to speak at banquets and opening ceremonies, and always had great things to say about our Club and its role in the community.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
