Cornwall’s PEI Canada Games teams playing their Maritime counterparts in tournament this weekend

Play gets underway at 5 this afternoon and continues on Sunday as PEI’s games teams, skipped by Cornwall’s Mitchell Schut and Lauren Ferguson, take on their New Brunswick and Nova Scotia counterparts at Curl Moncton in a Pre-Canada Games event.

The purpose of this event is to prepare each province’s respective teams in advance of the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta. With that in mind, they will be trying to mimic as much of that event as possible. Each team will have three games using the five-rock rule. Games will be eight ends with 30 minutes of thinking time. Each team will have a 9-minute pre-game practice. The current World Curling Federation sweeping moratorium will be in effect. Lawrence Forbes will be the official at this event.
