Welcome to the Cornwall Curling Club, located in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island, Canada! Curling is great exercise and a lot of fun! Our club emphasizes the social and recreational aspects of the game and welcomes both new and experienced curlers. Note that we have members from all around Queens County, not just the Town of Cornwall, and boast more members than any other PEI curling facility.

Another great year for the Cornwall Curling Club!

Another season has wrapped up at the Cornwall Curling Club, with our U18 teams returning from their nationals in St. Andrews New Brunswick on the weekend. It's been another great year for our teams, players, and coaches with lots of championships and awards won, including our first member ever to be on a World Championship team! Team Ferguson coach, skip win Mixed Doubles medals at Canadian U18 Ch'ships (Curling Canada)

The Mixed Doubles competition, for players who didn’t take part in the playoffs, wrapped up on Saturday at the Canadian Under 18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships in St. Andrews New Brunswick, with coach David Murphy and skip Lauren Ferguson from PEI's Team Ferguson winning gold and silver medals, respectively, while Lexie Murray of Team Ferguson was in the bronze medal game. Team Ferguson is from the Cornwall, Crapaud, and Charlottetown Curling Clubs.

NS sweeps Gold at U18 Ch’ships, Lauren Ferguson’s coach wins Gold, she takes the Silver in Mixed Doubles (Curling Canada)

SAINT ANDREWS, N.B. — An already amazing season for Nova Scotia youth curling got even better on Saturday night at the W.C. O’Neill Arena Complex. Nova Scotia teams claimed both gold medals at the 2018 Canadian Under 18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships — the second straight year one Member Association has swept both the girls and boys titles after Northern Ontario did it last year in Moncton. Those gold medals will nicely complement the gold medals captured by Kaitlyn Jones’s Halifax women’s team at the 2018 New Holland Canadian Junior Championships in Shawinigan, Que., and the 2018 World Junior Championships in Aberdeen Scotland.

Team Schut lead Colin MacKenzie wins a Fairplay Award at Canadian U18 (Updated)

The Canadian Under 18 Boy’s and Girl’s Curling Championships wrap up today with the 6 pm Gold and Bronze medal games (Follow the action: ) in St. Andrew’s New Brunswick. Fair Play Awards, as recognized by the officials at the championships, were awarded for each of the 4 boy’s and girl’s playing positions plus coach, with Colin MacKenzie from PEI’s Team Mitchell Schut winning the boy’s award for the lead position. Reminder: Farewell Party for Danielle and Edmond this evening (April 14)

Danielle Girard and Edmond Richard have been Cornwall Curling Club members for a number of years, and are departing on a journey to forge new friendships in Québec. A farewell party (an informal "come and go" drop-in event) is being held this evening (Saturday, April 14th) beginning at 7 pm. The bar will be open and there will be light snacks/appetizers provided.  Come on out and wish them well!

The round robin wrapped up on Thursday night, and sixteen teams – eight boys’, eight girls’ – will now move on to the Championship double-knockout round of the 2018 Canadian Under-18 Curling Championships in St. Andrews, N.B.

The PEI teams each had a pair of close losses on Wednesday at the Canadian Under 18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships in St. Andrews New Brunswick, with Team Lauren Ferguson sitting at 1-3 win-loss, and Team Mitchell Schut at 0-4 going into the final day of round robin play. Ferguson lost to New Brunswick's Erica Cluff Wednesday afternoon in a conservatively-played game until the last two ends, with NB leading 4-2 after six. All teams were in action on Tuesday at the 2018 Canadian Under-18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships in St. Andrews, N.B., with pool play underway to determine who will move on to the championship round later this week.

Reds dominate with repeat win at Your Independent Grocer Closing Spiel

Well, another closing spiel has wrapped up, The Leary’s Independent Grocer Red vs. Blue Spiel came to an end on Saturday with a victory for the Red team!  Using the Skins format again this year, the Friday night draw ended with the Red Team ahead by only a small margin.  The Red Team overtook the Blue team in the end, walking away with $281,000 and that left the Blue team with $227,000. Throughout the weekend there were a few ways to earn bonus points. Friday night trivia was had and the Reds won, winning an extra $2000 for their Team. Saturday morning a game of Left, Right Centre ...

The Canadian Under 18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships are underway in St. Andrews New Brunswick. The first draw took place Monday evening, while the opening ceremonies were at 9 this morning, before Draw 2 at 10 am.

Both PEI teams played their first games this morning, with the PEI Girl’s team, skipped by Lauren Ferguson out of the Cornwall, Charlottetown and Crapaud curling clubs, beating the Yukon 8-4, while the Boy’s squad, skipped by Mitchell Schut out of the  Cornwall Curling Club, lost 6-2 to a tough Quebec rink,

Cornwall's Schut and Ferguson rinks at Canadian U18 Ch'ships, which starts this evening in St. Andrews NB (Curling Canada)

Canada’s top up-and-coming curlers are playing for national championships for a second straight year in the province of New Brunswick, following a successful debut last April in Moncton. The 2018 Canadian Under-18 Boys and Girls Curling Championships are being staged in Saint Andrews, N.B., starting this evening and running through Saturday.

PEI is represented by our U18 provincial champs, the Mitchell Schut boy’s rink from the Cornwall Curling Club and the Lauren Ferguson girl’s team from the Cornwall, Crapaud, and Charlottetown curling clubs,

Sign up now for our annual nine-hole, Best Ball Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 16 at beautiful Countryview Golf Club, Route 19 in Fairview. Semifinal play wrapped up Saturday afternoon, with the gold and bronze medal games going today at the 2018 Coastland Engineering and Surveying Canadian Masters Curling Championship, for curlers age 60 and over, at the Cloverdale Curling Club and the Peace Arch Curling Centre in Surrey/White Rock BC. Team PEI women, skipped by Cornwall's Sandy Hope, made the championship pool in the event, finishing play with a 5-4 win-loss record overall, while the PEI men, skipped by Cornwall's Bill Hope, had a combined two wins and seven losses in the round robin and seeding pool. Reds have teeny tiny lead at Closing Spiel

The Your Independent Grocery Closing Spiel got underway on Friday evening, with all 20 teams seeing action, When the dust (or is it ice crystals?) settled, the Red team had a very slim lead in Skins and trivia dollars earned over the BLUE team - $58,000 to $42,000 - a lead that Blue should be able to easily erase in the Saturday morning draw.

We have recently-reconditioned rocks, 4 sheets of Jet Ice, a club house and ice plant (with backup power generator) that were completely replaced in the 2010/2011 season, an Ice King scraper bought new in 2012, ice-house heating and dehumidification, and are wheelchair accessible right down to the ice surface. We have a well-stocked Pro Shop and bar, and access to upstairs banquet facilities.
