2008-2009 Cornwall Curling Competitive League

Rules, Roster & Schedule 

 RULES 

1. This competitive league is a full team entry with any combination of male and/or female players.  

2. Team members can play any position and can change from game to game.  

3. Games are 8 ends.  The buzzer will be used to ensure the teams are off the ice in the 2-hour time period.  If the buzzer sounds, teams will complete the current end in play to finish  the game.  

4. Games are scored by a win/loss format.  In the event of a tie, each team will have one member draw to the button, with sweepers, to break the tie.  Only the team delivering the rock may sweep.  There will be no sweeping by the opposition behind the tee line. 

5. At least two (2) regular team members must be present to avoid a default. 

 6. If a team is unable to be present for a scheduled game, they must notify the draw master and the opposing team at least one (1) day in advance in order to avoid default. 

7. If the opposing team is agreeable, an alternate time may be arranged between the teams for a missed game at a time suitable to the opposing team.  The results of the game are to be recorded in the time slot the game was supposed to have been played.  If no suitable time can be found, the team unable to make the original game will lose by default. 

8. In the event of a cancellation, the draw will continue the following week, with all draws moving forward one (1) week.  (eg.  If curling is cancelled on Tuesday, November 27th, that  draw will be moved to Tuesday, December 4th).

The Cornwall KFC Competitive League Round Robin has concluded for another year.  This draw was a
popular one with 20 teams competing on Monday and Tuesday evenings.  Congratulations to the Bob
Fowler foursome of Bob, Alan Acorn, Carl Currie and Angus Davies  for their impressive first place
finish with 16 wins and only 3 losses.  Way to go!

The teams now move into the playoffs.  This year there are 3 divisions:  Pool A consists of the top 4
teams, who will play a round robin format with a play off on the last night to determine this year's
winner.  The remaining 16 teams will make up  Pools B and C and will  use a win/lose format to
determine the winners of these divisions.

The top 4 teams in Pool A include:  Bob Fowler, Brock Spence, Sarah Fullerton, and Roddie MacLean.

Pool B Teams include:  Donna Butler, Rob Young, Peter Buchanan, John Deluca, Rupert Sweetapple,
Shirley Berry, Angus Kennedy and Darren MacLean.

Pool C Teams include:  Sherren  MacKinnon, Guy Arsenault, Jim Farquharson, Karen Currie, Sarah
Clow, Geoff Scutt, Dave Currie, and Kevin Baillie.
