1st stop on Curl PEI Junior Development Curling Tour is here in Cornwall on Sat.

This is a reminder that the first two dates on the Junior Development Curling Tour will here be at the Cornwall Curling Club January 5 at 1 pm, and at the Crapaud Community Curling Club on January 20, also at 1 pm. Here’s a run-down on what will be happening here at Cornwall:

Stop 1:

1 PM, SATURDAY, JANUARY 5 @ Cornwall Curling Club
Speaker Topics: Forming a Curling Team and What Curling has Meant to Us

We have 6 teams ready to play this Saturday in the first Junior Development Curling Tour.  The teams are coming from Charlottetown Curling Club, Cornwall Curling Club and the Silver Fox Curling Club.

The plan looks like this:

1pm – Speakers:

Jennifer & Robbie Lenentine & Margaret & David O’Connor will be speaking with the parents of the Development Teams about their experiences developing a curling team on PEI.

Veronica & Sabrina Smith will be speaking with the curlers from Development Teams about the opportunities and such that curling has given them over the years.

1:30pm – Game Time:

The teams have 1.5 hours to play their game.  The buzzer will sound at 2:50pm to indicate they can finish the end they are playing but not start a new end.

3pm – Snacks, Socialize (with the other team) & Farewell

Stop 2:

1 PM, SUNDAY, JANUARY 20 @ Crapaud Community Curling Club
Speaker Topics: Basic Rules and Etiquette

The Junior Development Curling Tour is designed for non-competitive or newly-competitive junior curlers who were born on or after July 1, 2004.
