Cornwall’s Canada Games finalists Howatt, Ferguson, M. Schut 2-0 after Fall Fling day 1. The 2 jr women’s rinks play each other this morning

It was a great start on Friday for the three Cornwall Curling Club Canada Games finalist rinks in the Fall Fling Junior Cashspiel at the Silver Fox in Summerside, with all three winning both their games. The two undefeated Cornwall women’s rinks, skipped by Sydney Howatt and Lauren Ferguson, play each other at 8 am. The other two Cornwall junior women’s teams, skipped by Rachel MacLean and Emily Sanderson, are 0-2.

On the Junior men’s side, the Mitchell Schut Canada Games Finalist rink are undefeated at 2-0, with a big game coming up at 10:30 am against the Mitchell Cortello foursome from the Halifax Mayflower Club, who are also 2-0. Cornwall’s Devin Schut team are 0-2 after Friday play.

The finals go Sunday at 1 pm.

The Canada Games finalist teams, which also include the Chase MacMillan rink who are not entered in the Fall Fling, will be narrowed down to one junior men’s and one junior women’s finalist at the Canada Games Trials, Dec. 7-9 here in Cornwall.
