The first round, sponsored by Lowther Snow Removal, of the Wednesday evening Ladder League is in the books, and the results are easy to tabulate. The Mark MacDonald rink went undefeated to win the A pool, while the Bob Fowler foursome were also unbeaten to capture the B pool first round.
Paul Durant and Paul Neima were next in the A pool with 5 wins and 2 losses. Durant beat Neima in their game, and is consequently the second place finisher in the pool. The Ray Biagé and Gord Peters rinks both had 2 wins, while the Kim Glydon team picked up a single victory. These three teams will travel down the ladder to the B pool for Round Two, which starts next week (December 17), then takes a two week break for Christmas Eve and New Year’s eve, and picks up again on January 7.
The three teams climbing the ladder to replace them in the A pool will be the Fowler team, plus two junior men’s rinks, skipped by Donald DeWolfe, who picked up six wins, and Devin Schut, who won five of their seven games.
