Site now working better with IE 7 and 8

It looks like CornwallCurling.com is now working properly again with the older Internet Explorer versions, 7 and 8 (we really can’t support any versions older than that). A new release of the WordPress theme we are using seems to have fixed the formatting problems, and has also been tested with IE 10, which comes with Windows 8 (but I haven’t tested it myself as I don’t have Windows 8, and the preview version for Windows 7 is not due until later this month).

We have had to swap out our “plug-in” that lets you share pages and posts with a variety of social media products, for a different one, as it was generating errors due to a Facebook bug that only affects the older IE versions. We also had to remove our “Facebook Like” box, as it was causing problems, too (hopefully we can get another one that works). Please let me know if you are still having any problems, and thanks for your patience!

By the way, if you want to avoid problems on other websites, I would still recommend that you download a different browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari), as IE continues to be the browser that has the most problems.

The latest theme version also offers minor improvements to our smartphone and tablet “mobile” integration.
