The Cornwall Curling Club’s 7th annual Masters Plus Bonspiel got underway this morning at 8:30, and continues Friday. Masters Plus teams include one player who is age 55 or older (the “Plus”), and three players who are age 60 and over. Cornwall Curlers are reminded that there is no Daytime curling on these two days. Thursday evening curling is ON. Everyone is invited to come down to the Club and watch the top-quality curling action! Many of the teams have curlers who have won both provincial and regional titles.
A warm welcome is extended to all 16 teams entered, representing six different curling clubs from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Off-Island teams are from Antigonish, Sackville, Sackville/Moncton, Sussex/Thistle St. Andrews in Saint John, and the Heather club in St. Andrews. All Island teams are from Cornwall. Draws are 8:30 and 11:00 am, and 1:30 and 4:00 pm both days.
The host committee wants to thank the volunteers and staff of the Cornwall Curling Club as well as daytime and junior curlers at the Club for their cooperation as they will miss some regular curling draws. A special thank you is extended to all the bonspiel sponsors for their great support.
