A Good News Update from our Return to Play Chair and Board of Directors!!

Note to Members of the Cornwall Curling Club

3 February 2022

I would like to provide an update to you on our Return to Play plan. This plan has been created in cooperation with CPHO, Sport PEI, Curl PEI and approved with amendment by the Cornwall Curling Club Board of Directors.

At this time if we wish to return to a modified form of game play, we must organize our Leagues/User Groups into “consistent groups of up to no more than 20 individuals” (Curl PEI is referring to these groups of up to 20 individuals as Pods).

By doing this we will be able to play scrimmages under normal curling rules of play while following previous RTP protocol, but will allow us to enhanced guidelines and mitigate contacts ( thus increase safety of our curlers) . Our goal is to return to this form of play during the week of 6 February.

During this period of modified play we will restrict curlers to playing with only 1 (one) League/Group per day in order to minimize contacts. The Club does not take implementation of this particular measure lightly. We must continue to work with our partners in recreation ( CPHO, Curl PEI, Town of Cornwall) and, of course, mitigate public health risk and continue to make the Health and Safety of our members a priority.

Your League Coordinators/Draw Masters are working to produce schedules that conform to the current CPHO guidance.

Our Novice and Little Rock instructional programs will return to the ice this Sunday February 6th. Details to follow!

Stay tuned to the club website and social media for further updates on when Leagues and Instructional programs will return to the ice.
