Boy were we lucky…

For those of you who were following the saga of our chiller failure and subsequent repair at the start of the season, the experience of another club shows that we were VERY lucky.

On Monday, November 16th the Bridgetown Nova Scotia Curling Club suffered a catastrophic ice plant failure: the chiller had rusted out, and as a result they lost their ice and their season. Due to Department of Labour regulations, major repairs are not allowed because of  the age of the ice plant. As a result, their entire plant needs to be replaced and brought up to current building codes at a significant cost.  They are currently accepting donations, and pursuing ACOA and other grants, and their members have been taken in at other clubs for the season.
