Sources tell me that construction should get underway on Monday for the reconstruction of the Cornwall Civic Centre, which houses our Clubhouse. Fitzgerald and Snow of Summerside were the successful bidder on the approximately $2 million project, with the other bidder, MacLean Construction of Charlottetown, coming in a close second. Also coming will be a brand new ice plant, housed in a separate building, as well as pool area facilities. The $128,576 contract for the new ice plant was awarded to Berg Chilling Systems of Toronto Ont., and Cornwall’s own Lowther Refrigeration.
