We’re down to the fourth and last round at the Wednesday evening Ladder League, and, thanks to avoiding each and every storm this season (so far), we’ve got seven weeks left. We’ll fill it with a seven week round – the normal five weeks, plus rematches of the first two nights. In the event that we miss a week due to a storm, we’ll replace one of the two weeks at the end with that week’s draw, so you’ll get to play everyone at least once. But first, let’s get to the previous round.
The winners of the “A” pool in Round Three were the Greg Groves rink, who also won in round two. The team, which includes Donald Weeks, Cynthia Livingston, and Marjorie Matthews, had only one loss in the round. They’ll be receiving gift certificates from Round 3 A pool sponsor Wally’s Pharmasave. Two teams, skipped by Angus Kennedy and Donald DeWolfe, both had two losses in the round. We have no budget for silver medals, so I won’t check which one actually came second. The Ray Biagé rink’s return to the A pool was short, and despite having beaten the first place team, and having some close games, they only had one other win, so they’ll be dropping down the ladder for the last round. Kelly Watts and her team also had only two wins, but they beat the Biagé team in their round robin game, and will stay in A. Also moving down to B will be the Gord Peters team, who only picked up one win in the round.
The Lauren Ferguson team started off the season in the A pool, and will be returning there for the final round, having won ALL of their B pool games last round. The team, which includes Emma Coffin, Sierra Clyke, and Emily Sanderson, will be getting gift certificates courtesy of Red Island Baked Potato (over by Wally’s in the mall). The Greg Robertson and Rachel MacLean foursomes both had three wins, but Robertson beat MacLean 7-6 in their game, and will be moving up the ladder to A, while MacLean will stay put.
