Lorianne Davies and Roddie MacLean rinks win The Dominion Club Championship

Congratulations to the Lorianne Davies and Roddie MacLean rinks who won the Cornwall The Dominion Club Championships today.

Lorianne, and her team of Melody Beck, Tracy MacDonald, and Lynda Turnbull beat the Sarah Clow rink 6-4 in this afternoon’s women’s final. Playing with Clow were Brielle Quilty, Christina Hennessey, and Monica LeBlanc.

The Roddie MacLean foursome, which includes Ron Giggey, Edgar Coffin, and George Younker edged out the John DeLuca team by a 4-3 score. Other members of the runner-up DeLuca rink were Tom Dunn, Brad Gardiner, and Steve DeWolfe.

In the semi-finals earlier on Sunday, MacLean got by Angus Kennedy 5-4 , DeLuca edged  Bob MacWilliams 7-6  in an extra end, Clow beat Paulette Richard 5-3, and Davies defeated Karen Currie 9-5.  Eight men’s and six women’s teams took part in the weekend competition.

The winning Davies and MacLean rinks will now advance to the provincial The Dominion playoffs,  March 18-21 here in Cornwall.
If they win the provincials, they will take part in the national event, November 23-28  at the Charlottetown and here at the Cornwall curling clubs.
