O’Connor Glass Cornwall Classic U16 spiel wraps up on Sunday

It’s been a fantastic time so far here at the O’Connor Glass Cornwall Classic U16 spiel, which is down to the final draws on Sunday, with Girls Crossover Games at 8:30 am, followed by the Girls and Boys Consolation Finals and Event Finals at 1 pm. We would like to thank the curlers, coaches, and the permitted one spectator per curler for following the COVID-19 guidelines extremely well, with masks, physical distancing, etc.
The organizing committee led by Jennifer and Robbie Lenentine are doing a terrific job all around, and handed out swag bags to the participants, and conducted a 50/50 draw, with proceeds for the local Food Bank. Event title sponsor O’Connor Glass kept the coaches in the game with a gift of Tim Hortons Gift Cards!
The volunteer participation has been amazing, with Vice President Peter Murdoch, Past President Bryan Sutherland, Club President Chris MacDougall, along wth Heather and Robbie Gauthier, and even a Mom from out of town … helping!
Thanks to Jonathan Good and Your Independent Grocer for keeping the teams hydrated with a generous donation of bottles of water!
And thanks again to all the teams, coaches, and parents — some of whom live-streamed their games so their fans back home could watch. Good luck on Sunday, and safe travels home!
