The 7th Annual Junior Fall Fling cash spiel is set to go November 15 through 17 at the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club in Summerside. Eight Cornwall Curling Club rinks, including the defending women’s champion Veronica Smith team, along with other women’s rinks skipped by Meghan Ching, Emily Keen, and Amanda MacLean, and men’s rinks skipped by Donald DeWolfe, Matthew MacLean (2 of the 4 players), Cameron Jenkins, and Devin Schut, are entered.
This year’s event will see 12 junior men’s and an equal number of junior women’s teams from around the Maritimes play a 5 game round robin on Friday and Saturday. The semi-finals and finals take place on Sunday.
Last year’s men’s skip, Chris Gallant, is now attending university and curling in Winnipeg, and won’t be attending.
The public is invited to the Fox to witness a weekend of great curling.
Friday Nov. 15 draws are at 1, 3:30, 6, and 8:30 pm. Saturday games are at 8 and 10:30 am, 12 noon, and 3:30, 6, and 8:30 pm.
The semis go Sunday at 9 am, with the finals at 1 pm.
All draws on Friday and Saturday are 8 ends, while the Sunday semis and finals are 10 ends.
