We hosted a Swing & Sweep event this weekend with 12 teams participating.
The weather was good for the time of the year (though, in future remind me to schedule the golf for the afternoon when the sun has had a chance to warm things up a bit!).
Golf Winners
The team of Paul Neima, Alan Mason, Joe Callaghan, and Randy Goodman took the low score in the golf with a 32. Thank you to Countryview Golf for the winners swag!
Joe Callaghan won the Closest to the Pin, Valerie Beer won the Ladies’ Long Drive, and Scott Ellis won the Men’s Long Drive. Each will receive a $25 gift certificate to use on Cornwall Curling Club apparel at All Star Cresting.
Curling Winners
On the curling side of the event, the team of Sarah Doak, Sam Crook, Julia Hunter, and Breanne Burgoyne placed first and will each receive a $25 CCC Pro Shop gift certificate.
While we didn’t have any prizes for combination scoring, just for fun I ran all the numbers in an Excel file using F1 points scoring (25 for 1st, then 18,15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 points for positions 2 through 10).
Using that system two teams tied – as they both tied for 2nd place in both golf and curling. Those teams were:
- Brent Irving, Angela Sanderson, Angus Kennedy, and Shauna Gill
- Troy Bertram, Donna Marie, Karen Martell, and Steven Miller
