We are hosting the Travelers Curling Club championship, which wraps up today. This could force the cancellation of our Tuesday evening draw, but we won’t know this until after the 3 pm draw. Here’s the scoop:
The men’s and women’s finals are at 3 pm. Both the Western (Sharon Horne) women’s team and the Silver Fox (Barry Cameron) men’s rink were undefeated in round robin play and are in the finals.
The rules state that teams who were unbeaten in round robin play, but lose the final, must be beaten twice, so, in the event that EITHER Horne or Cameron LOSE their final, the two teams in their final will play in another (sudden death) final at 7 pm, which will cause the evening draw to be cancelled, as provincial championships require that the other ice sheets be empty. If BOTH Horne and Cameron WIN their final, the Travelers will be over, and the Competitive League draw will go ahead.
We will let you know as soon as possible after the 3pm draw. We apologize for the inconvenience.
