Former Club member Charlie McDonald passes away

The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, of Charles Andrew “Charlie” McDonald OFS, beloved husband of Janet McDonald (nee Profit), of Cornwall, aged 82.

He was the loving father of Darren (Kathy), Sharon Hay (Donald), Andy (Nancy), and Shawn; grandfather of David, Desiree (deceased), and Madison; Kathryn, Jessica, Spencer, and Tyson; and Justin, Melissa, and Colin; and great-grandfather of Maverick, Westley, and Charlie.
He is also survived by his brother, Byron (Ruth); and sisters, Virginia Jackson (Ron), and Mary McDonald-Rissanen (Pekka); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his granddaughter, Desiree, Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Earle and Katherine (Andrew) McDonald; sister, Catherine Freeman; parents-in-law, Jack and Doris Profit; sister-in-law, Ann Clough; and brothers-in-law, Benny Profit and Larry Profit.

Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A private funeral, by invitation only, will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall, on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Francis of Assisi and St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, Cumberland.
If so desired, memorial donations made to the QEH Cancer Treatment Centre, the Queens Home Care Palliative Care Program, or the St. Francis of Assisi St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
