Junior Team Practice: Cost is $140.00 + HST per season
Junior Team Practice time is a part of our Junior Development Program.
These are typically competitive teams, ages 13-20 who use this time for practicing skill development and for coaching time. This program requires all curling teams to recruit their own coaches/instructors.
Teams will be assigned two days per week for their practice sessions. Each session is one hour each. The teams can be any combination of male and female.
Currently those days are Monday to Thursday (with exception of 5:00pm – 6:00pm on Tuesdays), and ice times can be from 4:00pm – 5:00pm, OR 5:00pm to 6:00pm. (All junior curlers scheduled for 5:00pm start time must be off the ice by 6:00pm for our evening draws).
Note: Returning teams will be offered their previous year’s practice time as a priority, and then any open/available spots as next priority. (For more details/information on this policy, please see the Club Manager).
New teams will then be assigned available practice times.
The Program Coordinator will venture to work with the teams to accommodate schedules as much as possible, working with the Club Manager and Club schedule.
Our ice will be scraped and pebbled after our afternoon curling user group for the start of the 4:00pm Junior Practice sessions (it will not be scraped or pebbled between the 4:00pm and 5:00pm sessions).
There is no “sharing” of memberships. All curlers must pay for a membership (i.e., whether a team of four or five, etc…) Extra curlers must pay for a membership or a drop-in fee.
U16 Junior Development League: Cost is $40.00 per curler on team.
NOTE: All curlers on team, whether four or five, must pay the fee. Any spares must pay a spare fee.
The U16 Junior Development League Program is a Junior Instructional League opportunity for curling teams U16. It is a team-entry format.
This U16 Junior Development League is intended to provide competitive league experience to U16 junior teams.
League Begins: TBA
League Scheduled End: TBA
The U16 Junior Development League will take place Saturday mornings starting at 10:00am.
There will be seven sessions over the course of the season. (see below).
The Draw Master will attempt to schedule the league play days as to not conflict with other provincial and Atlantics tournaments schedules, as much as possible.
This U16 Junior Development League is intended to provide competitive league experience to U16 junior teams.
For many it will be their first introduction to such. There is a focus on learning the rules around game and tournament play, and a hope that experienced teams will mentor new teams.
This league will run a minimum of seven available Saturday mornings – the 2022-23 schedule is TBA.
During the first scheduled day there will be a parent and coach session for our U16 Saturday League Chair and Draw Master to review the rules and guidelines of the league. The League Chair and Draw Master this season will be Shaun MacArthur.
