Cornwall Curling Club Championship goes this weekend (changed playoff format)

The Dominion Curling Club Championship

This weekend, 8 men’s and 5 women’s teams will compete for the Cornwall Curling Club Championship. The draw will be made Thursday evening around 8:00 PM to determine first draw assignment.  

Men’s teams will be divided into 2 divisions (by random draw), and each division of 4 teams will play a round robin schedule.  
The top two teams in each division will play in semi-finals. The semi-final winners will play in the final.

  Men’s participants include:
1. Bob MacWilliams, John Berry, Roy Coffin, Jim Farquharson
2. John DeLuca, Tom Dunn, Perry Mohan, Steve DeWolfe
3. Brock Spence, Sean Legerwood, Chris Montigny, Jay Carr
4. Rob Young, Mark MacDonald, Brad Gardiner, Alan Acorn
5. Roddie MacLean, Paul Arsenault, Ron Giggey, Edgar Coffin
6. Kris Currie, Mitch Ellis, Mark Perry, Len Gotell
7. Ray Biagé, Kimball Blanchard, Paul Durant, Dick MacDonald
8. Angus Kennedy, Mike LaFontaine, Matthew Hanus, Joe Callaghan
 
Women’s teams will play a full round robin. The second and third place teams from the round robin will play in the semifinal with the winner of this game playing the first place finisher in the final.  

 Women’s participants include:
1. Rebecca Rolfe, Leita Chisholm, Linda Matthews, Valerie Taylor
2. Lorianne Davies, Melody Beck, Tracy MacDonald, Lynda Turnbull
3. Karen Currie, Helen Smith, Gloria Clarke, Elaine Hughes
4. Debbie Rhodenhizer, Kelly Watts, Cathy Handren, Krista Affleck
5. Valerie Acorn, Heather Pierce, Helen Verhulp, Meaghan Wilkie
 
Because it will be too late on Thursday to put the draw in the newspaper – please check the website for the draw – all skips will be advised by phone.

The winning men’s and women’s teams will advance to the PEI Dominion Curling Club Championship, March 17-20 at the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton.
The PEI winner will advance to the national The Dominion Curling Club championship in Richmond BC in November.
