Things got a little confusing in round two of the Wednesday night ladder league, sponsored by Cornwall Pizza Delight, due to storms, partial storms and the Scotties causing missed draws and some missed games.

It looks like the Karen Currie team, with only one loss, won the A pool, followed closely by the Bob MacWilliams rink, who won all their games, but have one not played, while the Currie rink had one loss (against MacWilliams) but have all games played. The rules state that points are used first and games played but lost receive a point, while games not played do not.

Three teams will drop down to the B pool. The Kelly Watts and Colleen Soltermann teams, newly promoted from the B pool, have only one win each, and will rejoin the B.

The Veronica Smith and Bob Fowler rinks both show three wins, but the scoreboard shows that Smith has one less point, due to one game not played, and, as well, lost to Fowler in their round robin encounter, so the Smith team will also be dropping down to B.

In the B pool, both the John DeLuca and Gord Peters rinks show 5 wins, but DeLuca has one game showing as not played, so the prize for top team in the round will go to Peters. Although DeLuca beat Peters in their round robin encounter, the rules state that we use the points first.

Both of these teams will be going back up the ladder to the A pool for the final round. They’ll be joined by the Joerg Soltermann rink, who had four wins. Also with four wins was the Joe MacKinnon rink, but they are showing a game not played and therefore have less points. MacKinnon did beat Soltermann in their game.
