Some of you are gearing up for some exciting National events, and some of you beginning to wind down for the season…
We would like to congratulate all of our curlers, coaches, and families on a wonderful season, and let you know how proud our members are of your accomplishments and how impressive it has been to see so many curlers continuing to improve and working so well together.
Some more reasons to celebrate: the Cornwall Curling Club has had five Junior Teams win Provincial events, and four have/or will attend National Title Competitions representing PEI! Incredible!
Certainly, it has been a trying year with the sports pause, pods, and the general overshadowing of this public health crisis, however, Junior Curlers have shown so much resilience as you carried on during a pivotal time in your life sport’s journey.
All that said, we wanted to remind you that its not over here at the club!
The 2nd Annual Junior Red and Blue playday is planned to run on April 16th, with the signup deadline as Monday, April 11th (Today) at 5 pm.
The Red and Blue event is intended to join all curlers at the Cornwall Curling Club in celebrating the end of the year with a club-wide points race in six different divisions!
It is a fun event that will have Junior teams mixed and a relaxed time to get to know your fellow curlers!
Because it is all about the fun… Maybe you want to play a different position … Skips can sweep, sweepers can Skip…!
It is also a great event to provide opportunity for the club’s more senior Junior curlers to mentor our younger curlers~ a chance to ‘give back to the game you love and help curlers who are just getting started in junior competitive curling just like you once did!
We will also have some current and former Competitive curling mentors join us too…they may have curled and/or won Club, Provincial, National events… and we even have a two-time World Champion joining us!.. Or they may even be a leader in our club and a good fun curler!

On Saturday, April 16th the Cornwall Curling Club will be hosting a SINGLE ENTRY curling FUNSPIEL for all of our Junior Practice Curlers to curl with AWESOME mentors and help with our club-wide RED and BLUE points race!
What you need to know!
-Date of Event: Saturday, April 16th.
-This is a FREE Event:, courtesy of our generous sponsor, Peake & McInnis Ltd. Insurance Brokers!
-There will be TWO Draws: 10:00 am and 1:00 pm – Event Includes: Two 6-end games (one morning game, a pizza lunch, and one afternoon game)!
-Single Entry event: All curlers will be mixed with other Junior Practice Curlers, plus a mentor, to make teams!
(This event will act as social for our Junior Curlers to have an opportunity to get to know each other and promote a friendly club culture…but also an opportunity for our “older” and more experienced Junior curlers to mentor and give back to our younger curlers!…)
Each team will be assigned a colour: Red or Blue. There will be a points race based on various competition criteria! The points will then be submitted to the club to be added to the other division so the club can determine an overall RED or BLUE winning team!!
- There will be tons of fun and maybe a few giveaways!
The deadline to SIGN UP is Monday, April 11th at 5 pm, however, we kindly ask that your curler sign up as soon as possible to help us in planning and organizing the event!
