The women’s Club championship playoffs finally wrapped up at the Cornwall Curling Club today,  after storm and scheduling delays.

In the Women’s category, after the Round Robin, the second place finisher – Debbie Rhodenhizer played the third place finisher – Karen Currie.  Currie won, and  took on  first place finisher Lorianne Davies in the final, with the Davies rink, which includes third Melody Beck, second Tracy MacDonald, and lead Lynda Turnbull, emerging as the winners.
Other members of the runner-up Currie foursome are Helen Smith, Gloria Clarke, and Elaine Hughes.

The men’s entry was decided earlier, with the  team of Brock Spence, Sean Ledgerwood, Chris Montigny, and Jay Carr beating the Bob MacWilliams rink in the final.

The Spence and Davies rinks will now advance to the PEI Dominion Curling Club Championship, March 17-20 at the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton.
The PEI winner will then play in the national The Dominion Curling Club championship in Richmond BC in November.

  1. You would think between the four members of the Spence foursome they would be able to come up with one picture of the team.

Rumours are that Spence has been “slimming” and he is waiting to be in peak form before any pictures are released for public view….

  2. Why hasn’t Team Spence contacted me yet? I’ve already booked a room at the Alberton Arms.

  3. Brock lost 7-zip in 4 ends this morning.
Hopefully, there’s no $2000 fine for quitting early!
