Members’ Ice Time

In accordance with the most recent announcement of the Chief Public Health Office, the Cornwall Curling Club is now welcoming bookings for “Members’ Ice Time”.

Please see below for guidelines and hours of club operations:

For the information of  Junior Practice Teams: Your regular team schedule will resume next Monday, January 31st. You will be able to have all team members, plus your coach on the ice during your sessions.

For the information of Little Rockers and Novice Instructional Programs: The Return to Play committee, with Curl PEI, is currently investigating how these programs can proceed. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

For information of the Monday Night Commercial League: The league Coordinators and the Return to Play Committee, along with the Board of Directors are investigating how your group may be able to proceed. Please stay tune for announcements.

For the information of all other members: You are able to access “Members’ Ice Time” according to the schedule below. We do ask that you consider booking at times that would be typical of your club recreation time; however, you are welcome to book on other days and times that are listed below and are available.

Members Ice Time:

*The Club welcomes members to book one-hour practice times for the “Members’ Ice Time” program seven days per week:

Monday to Friday: 10 am (first booking) to 7 pm (last booking)

Saturdays and Sundays: 10 am (first booking) to 5 pm (last booking).

(please see specific hours listed below).

*At this time, ice time can be booked for a maximum four team members per sheet. Your team must be consistent, and cannot change from booking to booking or week to week.
*There will be a maximum of one team/four curlers per sheet, until we are instructed differently from CPHO.

*Ice time must be pre-booked. When pre-booking you must include your name, and the names of those in your group ( “up to” three other names of the people on your team).

*If you “drop-in” and there is a sheet available, you will be welcome to curl on it.
* No games are allowed to be played. This is by direction of CPHO and the Cornwall Curling Club Board of Directors. This includes Doubles games or Stick Curling game style.
*Curlers will be required to check in with the Club Attendant on-site upon arrival.
*In an attempt to balance ice sheet usage, we cannot promise a specific ice sheet to curlers upon booking. You will be assigned your sheet number upon arrival to the club. Special requests will try to be accommodated, but not guaranteed.
*If you are requesting two hours of ice, the club will attempt to accommodate your request not to book another group behind you~ however depending on the demands for any specific day or time, we cannot guarantee such. The club may need to book another group behind you and you will be unable to curl for two hours. This can develop in advance and you will be notified in advance, or can happen at the day/time and you will be advised on site.
*Teams are welcome to book more than once per week; however, multiple users may be bumped for groups who have not yet curled for the week.
*Given there is expected to be a high demand for ice, the club asks that your group honour your booking times, and do not cancel. If needing to cancel we kindly ask that you do so as much in advance as possible (in order to open up that space for other curlers).
* All bookings can only be made one week in advance, as per previous club procedure.
* Our club is a double vaccination site, and we have verified and recorded members’ vaccinations. Anyone who is not verified to-date will be required to provide proof of double vaccination and Government-issued identification.
*Masks will be worn at all times with the following exceptions: curling, sitting and drinking or eating.
* The Club will honour social distancing guidelines, and expect that our users do as well.  All tables will be located six feet apart.

*We will abide by all conditions of our liquor and food licenses.

* We will abide by all requirements of the CPHO.

Please note: these guidelines are evolving all the time as we take our direction from CPHO, and consult with Curl PEI.

The Board of Directors and Return to Play Committee thank the membership for their patience and support of the Club, and of our front line staff, as we try to find ways to navigate these uncertain times for your club.
