Round one is over in the Wednesday night ladder league, with the A Pool, sponsored by Don Lowther Snow Removal, won by the rink of Paul Neima, Brad Gardiner, Mike Lafontaine, and Dwayne McNeill, with two losses in the round. The Angus Kennedy team also had two losses, but lost to the Neima rink in their encounter on Dec. 1, and ends up in second place.
The B pool, sponsored by Howard Johnson Dutch Inn, was won by the Bob Fowler foursome. They had two losses, as did the Kelly Watts team, but Fowler beat Watts in their Dec. 1st game, getting first place honours. Playing with Fowler were Bob Fowler, Paul Durant, Jamie Ballem, and Allan Acorn. Fowler and Watts, along with B Pool third place team Colleen Soltermann, who appear to be the most improved team this year, will be moving up the ladder to the A pool for round two, sponsored by Cornwall Pizza Delight, which gets underway Wednesday Dec. 22nd, with no curling on the 29th, and the second draw going January 5th..
The three teams dropping from the A to the B pool will be the Ray Biagé rink, who got off to a great start, winning their first three games, but failed to pick up a win after that, along with the John Deluca team. with two wins, and the Gordon Peters squad, with a single victory.
