New Hardline icePAD “Compliant” brush head covers have arrived!

Good news for Hardline icePAD competitive curlers! Mike McEwen has rushed us a shipment of new brush head covers that are compliant with new Curling Canada specifications for “any provincial / territorial playdown leading to a Curling Canada event that ultimately leads to a World Curling Federation event.” As we told you previously, there were concerns raised that these and other similar brushes were just too good for competitive play, and Curling Canada issued a moratorium saying that, in the case of the icePAD, either a compliant fabric would have to be used on the brushhead cover, or the current cover could be used if it was turned inside out.

hardlineWe now have the new compliant covers in stock, at just $17.50 each. Of course, your current cover is completely fine for club play and for other championships that don’t lead to these designated Curling Canada events. Curling Canada also require that the little plastic insert in the brush head be removed for play in these events. Installing a new cover and removing the insert is a simple process that takes less than a minute. Click to view video.  We can help you with this if you would like.

Here’s Santa, with his own brush!

Of course, our Pro Shop has in stock a great selection of icePAD and other quality curling brushes. They make great Christmas gifts! We also stock brush heads and pads in case you already have a brush, but want to do a “tuneup” for the new year and the upcoming competitive curling season. For new curlers, please note that we would like you to have your own curling brushes, as our Club brushes are intended for rental use. After Christmas we normally charge a small rental fee for our brushes when used by members, to help save wear and tear on them, so be sure to ask Santa for a new brush for Christmas!
