Reminder: Club reopens Thursday for practice. League play resumes March 14.

Note to All Cornwall Curling Club Members and User Groups:

As was announced by the Premier and Dr. Morrison today,  the 3-day shutdown from the PEI Government “Modified Red Alert” ends tonight, and we return to the Circuit Breaker on Thursday, with practices, but not games, permitted.

The Club will be open for Practice starting Thursday, and you are invited in for a coffee or a “social” before or after your booked practice time. The revised second part of the Circuit Breaker, which continues until 8 am on the 14th, permits the serving of food and drinks up to 10 pm, so our bar and concession stand will be open within the limits. Please note that the Circuit Breaker limits table size to six persons.

Practice information

Practice is defined as the act of doing something regularly or repeatedly to improve a skill.

Practice ice will be allocated, on a first-come-first-served basis, to a group of no more than 4 curlers per sheet (this group of curlers will be considered a “team” for the duration of the day of the booking) for the purpose of practicing or maintaining the skills required to play the game of curling.

At this time, curlers are not to practice with more than one team per day.

The team practicing on a sheet may dedicate some of their allocated ice time to participating in a period of simulated gameplay. This simulated gameplay will not involve other curlers outside of those who are registered as practicing on that sheet.

Practice times will be offered in one-hour blocks, as follows:

In terms of practice, we ask that all curlers check in with the attendant on site as to what sheet they are on, and proceed to the corresponding table number.

All other guidelines will remain the same as before (ie. sign in upon arrival, sanitize hands and rocks, one parent per child, etc… )

Please follow our website and social media for updates throughout the days to come.

If you have any questions or wish to book practice ice please reach out to our Club Manager at 902-566-4427 or email cornwallcurling@eastlink.ca. She will be on-site Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm.

We appreciate the support of our members as we move through these challenging times.

We have many exciting plans to come on how we can move into the last part of our season and have some fun …so stay tuned … and be safe.
