The Annual Red and Blue Daytime Playday was another huge success this year!! We have to say, it is fascinating to watch a group who are so highly competitive in the Red vs Blue points race….and yet so super fun!
A big thank you to Kimball Blanchard, who Chaired this event again this year and acted as DrawMaster! Kimball just quietly and modestly moves through planning as if it’s no big deal at all, and is incredibly organized! It almost fools us into thinking he is reserved and timid, until you fall victim to his savvy and charming wit!!
Thank you Kimball… you are appreciated!
Daytime Committee Chair, and all-around rock star, Paul Durant was also a part of being a lead during the festivities today, thank you Paul. Your service and time are cherished!
Curlers were greeted this morning with some delicious baked goods from Mary’s Cornwall Bakery and fresh coffee.
Thank you to Carol Sweetapple, who is always offering to jump in and help with all events. Carol always helps with such kindness and helpfulness. The club could not be luckier to have her. Thank you Carol for your time this morning… and almost every morning!
Thirty-two curlers took part in curling today and had a great time! Lots of cheering, and friendly banter, and many close games! We even had a few draw-to-the-buttons to determine a winner! (That is Carol Sweetapple’s draw right on the button to win her second game!)
Following curling we all broke bread and shared a beverage and some pizza… ordered and personally delivered from our friends right here in Cornwall, Sam’s Family Restaurant! Best pizza ever! Thank you to Fadi and his team!
Bernie Field was in the kitchen serving up an awesome selection of pizza and many come up for seconds as it was so good! Thank you Bernie for your help, and your great sense of humour!
Kimball and Paul also presented some door prizes so generously donated by our members! And everyone left with a door prize!
The winners today… Team Red … who accumulated 9500 points vs Team Blue’s 9300!! That’s Team Red celebrating in our group photo!
