Reminder: NO LEAGUE CURLING or other games (just practices & 2-person Stick & Doubles), until Circuit Breaker ends (expected 8 am Sunday)

This is another reminder that Prince Edward Island remains under a Chief Public Health Office-mandated “Circuit Breaker” measure, expected to end Sunday, March 14 at 8 am. During the Circuit Breaker, curling practices are permitted, but no regular curling games, including Drop-In or regular league curling, are allowed.

The Chief Public Health Office has recently authorized the resumption of gameplay for Stick and Doubles curling during this, the second part of the Circuit Breaker measures. This is due to the limited number of players on the ice at one time with two-person per team Stick and Doubles curling.

The Sunday Doubles League’s next draw is after the Circuit Breaker is expected to end, so this has no impact on them this week.

Under the current second part of the Circuit Breaker, the serving of food and drinks is permitted up to 10 pm, so our bar and concession stand will be open within these measures.  Please note that the Circuit Breaker limits table size to six persons.

To book your practice time, please call our Club Manager at 902-566-4427 or email cornwallcurling@eastlink.ca. She will be on-site Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm.

The practice schedule will continue until Thursday, March 11th. Curling games are currently expected to be permitted again by the morning of Sunday the 14th. By that time the Club will issue an update on operation plans.

Practice information

Practice ice will be allocated, on a first-come-first-served basis, to a group of no more than 4 curlers per sheet (this group of curlers will be considered a “team” for the duration of the day of the booking) for the purpose of practicing or maintaining the skills required to play the game of curling.

At this time, curlers are not to practice with more than one team per day.

The team practicing on a sheet may dedicate some of their allocated ice time to participating in a period of simulated gameplay. This simulated gameplay will not involve other curlers outside of those who are registered as practicing on that sheet.

Practice times will be offered in one-hour blocks, as follows:

We appreciate the support of our members as we move through these challenging times.

We have many exciting plans to come on how we can move into the last part of our season and have some fun …so stay tuned … and be safe.
