Sad news: sudden passing of Lew Black

lew

We are very sad to announce the sudden and unexpected passing, following a recovery from major surgery and a very encouraging rehabilitation process, of  Club member Lew Black. Lew passed away on Wednesday June 8, following what the family refers to as “a number of really uplifting days,” and the day before what would have been his 63rd birthday. Lew has family in Australia and Ottawa, who are on their way to the Island, and we will keep you informed of wake and funeral arrangements.

Lew was a very popular and active Club member, curling both in the evening in our Ladder League and Monday leagues, and in daytime curling, participating in many bonspiels and golf tourneys, and had served as the daytime curling representative on our Board of Directors, and as a timer at provincial championships. He will be greatly missed.
