Bob MacWilliams has pointed out that there was a second former Cornwall curler participating in the Strathcona Cup tour of Scotland, which wrapped up on Friday, with Canada capturing the Cup this time. Here’s his bio.

Hi, I’m Jeremy MacDonald.

I’m originally from Cornwall, PEI. I started curling at the Cornwall Curling Club at the age of 8 years old when my parents were founding members of the club. I curled competitively in juniors reaching the Provincial final in my last year of eligibility. I continued curling out of Cornwall until the age of 25 when I moved to Ontario for work. After moving to Ontario I curled out of the Winchester Curling Club until my current club the North Grenville Curling Club opened in 2005. I have won several club championships and in 2008 I won the Royal Victoria Jubilee, which is the Canadian Branch of the RCCC’s men’s championship.

A consummate volunteer, I have served on different curling club executives, help with ice making as a Level 2 Ice technician, and have helped with club junior programs. I am currently the President of the Kemptville Wildcats Little League organization and have served on the executive for over 5 years. I am also a Past President of the Canadian Branch of the Royal Caledonia Curling Club serving as President for 4 years.

I’ve been married to my wife Tracey for 18 years. I taught her to curl 22 years ago and she now curls and volunteers around the club as much as I do. We have an 18-year-old son Brandon that started curling when he was 7 and loves the sport as much as we do.

Professionally, I have worked as a Network Administrator at the Royal Canadian Mint since 2014. I have been working in the IT industry since moving to Ottawa in 1998. In my spare time when I have some, I enjoy golfing, coaching and umpiring baseball, playing with electronics, watching football (American NFL football!!!), and obviously CURLING.

I look forward to seeing some tourists from the Scottish 2013 Strathcona Cup tour when we come to Scotland. I had the pleasure of welcoming the tourists when they landed in Ottawa and hosted them at our club during their first week in Canada. I also attended the closing banquet and enjoyed getting to know that great group of tourists.
