Volunteers needed for Provincial Seniors championships

The Cornwall Curling Club is proud to host the Provincial Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Curling Championships, from February 20-24. We would like your help in ensuring that this event is successful. We will be requiring timers (1 per game),  web score updaters (1 per draw), food servers (2 per day at noon), food preparers, and greeters/50×50 people (1 per draw).

There are two signup sheets up at the Club now – one for food preparers, and one for everyone else Please sign your name in the appropriate slot if you can help out! Note that draws this time around are 8 ends (not 10 like previous Seniors).

Here’s a basic rundown of what each job entails:

Timers: run laptop to track “thinking time” of each team. A number of Club members have been trained in previous years.  Bob MacWilliams can provide training for new timers/refresher training if needed (let us know)
Web scorer: Updates score on computer after each end. Instructions provided.
Food  Servers: lunch, coffee, takes money/vouchers.  11:30-1:00
Food preparers: prepare the noon-time food.
Door/50×50: Greets people, looks after donations jar, and event programs, Sells 50×50 tickets both at door and around venue, announces winner. Be there at least 30 min before game-time.

Note that some games, and the extra Monday men’s final slot (in case of two tiebreakers) will only happen if tiebreakers are needed, but we will book them anyway (and you may not have to go).

Officials are also required, but are supplied by Curl PEI.
