When you are a part of a community of wonderful people, you often get to hear about the latest news and occasions in their lives…

Today when we asked our “Afternoon Drop-In Stick Curling”  Drawmaster, Alva Clarey how he enjoyed this past weekend ~ he responded “Great!  Cathy and I celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary!” as he zipped up his big curling bag filled with sticks and brooms.

Fifty years.

Cathy joined us as we talked briefly about the ups and downs of  50 years lived together. Alva and Cathy shared that there were some challenges, but that it wasn’t so hard really….as long as they knew they had each other. That they never had any moments where they wondered if they would make it fifty years together. That they were grateful for their children and family and friends…
and their life together has been fun.

As we talked Alva often looked over at Cathy … and he would smile.
And when they caught eyes, she giggled.
You could feel their magic, their chemistry… and it was so very obvious why they never doubted that they would celebrate fifty years together…

On behalf of all of your friends and all of the members here at the Cornwall Curling Club~  a heartfelt congratulations to Alva and Cathy on your Golden Anniversary!!
