The following bylaw change has been proposed by the Board of Directors (which requires a 21 day notice).

Motion to Amend the By-Laws – Eligibility of Youth Directors
Motion:
Moved that Article 2.1.1 of the Cornwall Curling Club By-Laws be amended to permit up to two (2) Youth Members in Good Standing to be eligible for election as Directors of the Board of Directors.
Current Wording of Article 2.1.1:
“No person shall be eligible for election as a Director unless that person is an Adult Member in good standing of the Club.”
Proposed Amended Wording of Article 2.1.1:
“The affairs of the Club shall be conducted by the Board of Directors, composed of twelve (12) Directors elected by voting Members. No person shall be eligible for election as a Director unless that person is an Adult Member in good standing of the Club, provided however that up to two (2) Youth Members in good standing may also be eligible for election as Directors.”
Points of consideration:
This proposed amendment would mean that Youth Directors have full voting rights on the Board.
This wording does not impact Article 4: Meetings and Voting which states “Only Adult Members are able to vote at meetings”. The amendment does not grant Youth Members voting rights at meetings.
No other articles of the by-laws would be impacted by this proposed amendment.
