This a gentle reminder as winter weather approaches to clean your outdoor boots at the door, change into clean indoor or curling shoes, and use the boot cleaner before entering the ice house. As we’ve previously mentioned, grippers should be replaced annually, as little rubber pieces can break off and fall onto the ice. We carry Tournament and Asham universal grippers, with Asham disc grippers arriving next week.

Even sweaters (especially fleece) and other clothing can shed material, so be sure your curling clothing is in tip-top shape! Also, curling brooms pick up dirt as you sweep, so brush the heads regularly.

Clean ice is necessary both for your safety, and to ensure that your rocks don’t pick on debris!
