Cornwall council split over timing on Civic Centre (CBC)

Cornwall town council is split over how soon renovations should begin on its aging civic centre.

About $2 million has already been set aside for improvements to the 40-year-old building through the Build Canada Fund, but council recently decided behind closed doors to wait a little longer.

Mayor Patrick MacFadyen said it would likely be the spring of 2011 before construction begins.

That doesn’t sit well with Coun. Irene Dawson. She believes the renovations should start as soon as possible.
