Former Club member Paul Horne passes away

Paul Horne, a former Club member who suffered a cardiac event while curling at our Club back in January 2010, has passed away. Paul had been resuscitated with the help of another Club member performing CPR until the paramedics arrived. As a result of that incident, the Club, with the help of monies raised by the Daytime Curlers and donated by Cornwall Physiotherapy and Sports Rehabilitation, purchased an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and Club staff received training in CPR and use of the AED. A fundraiser, attended by many Club members, was held at the North Shore Community Centre, and raised $19,000 to assist with home modifications and other aspects of his recovery.
