We are pleased to report that our ice install is going well, and on schedule for availability on Sunday! The lines are now in place (and look great!), which means we only have decals to install, as well as some finish coats. You will note a major change this year, as approved at the Annual General Meeting: the boards which used to divide the ice sheets are gone! This is the status quo at most curling facilities these days, as it produces a better ice product, but curlers will have to be mindful of rocks from adjacent sheets.

Thanks again to everyone, including Roy Coffin (at right in picture with head ice technician Brent Irving) who has been helping out every day during ice installation, as he has done MANY times over the last 38 years that we’ve been making ice! Roy began his history with the Club four decades ago as a member of the planning and implementation committee in 1980, was on the charter Board of Directors starting in 1981, coached his daughter’s team to a provincial junior championship in 1983, the year after the Club opened, and is still curling and volunteering around the Club.
