Silver Fox to host 2017 KFC Under 13

The Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Community Complex in Summerside is the host for the 2017 KFC Provincial Under 13 Open Curling Championship, from March 10-12. The “Open” format means that any combination of girls and/or boys may be on a team. Nine teams, from five PEI curling facilities, are taking part.
Last year’s champions were the Rachel MacLean rink from the Cornwall Curling Club, who won all seven of their games, stealing the last end to edge their clubmates, the Chase MacMillan team, by a 4-3 score in the final. These teams have moved up to the U16 age category.
This year’s teams will play a partial round robin of four games each, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals at 11 am on Sunday morning, with the semi winners advancing to the 2:30 pm championship round.

There will be no tie breakers played before the SEMIs.
Placement for the playoff positions will be determined first by win/loss, then head to head between tied teams, then cumulative Last Stone Delivery (draw to the button) and finally by points.
5 points will be awarded per win, 1 point per end, and 1 point for difference of score, up to a maximum of three.
Games are six ends. A full extra end is played to break ties. Brush Moratorium is NOT in effect.
