Hello Little Rockers and Novice Curling Families…

Some exciting news for our talented young curlers!!!

As announced last evening (Thursday, February 3rd,2022) by our ‘Return to Play’ Chair Peter Murdoch, Little Rockers and Novice instructional programs will “Return to Play” on Sunday, February 6th 2022.

You can find the announcement here:

Here are all the details for the “Return to Play” for our Little Rockers and Novice Programs:

*The Cornwall Curling will resume the Novice and Little Rockers programs this Sunday, February 6th 2022. The time will remain from 12:45 pm until 2:00 pm.

* Novice will also return to Tuesday instruction as well on February 8th, 2022 from 4:45 pm until 6:00 pm.

* Parents and curlers are asked to arrive at the club no earlier than ten minutes before warm up.

*We ask that each curler be joined by no more than one parent or caregiver.

*Children, parents, caregivers, instructors and volunteers all must wear masks, and social distance at all times when not sitting at a table eating or drinking. (Unless you have a medical condition that prevents such.)

*Masks will be worn by curlers during warm up and they must stay 6 feet apart.

* Instructors and volunteers will make every attempt to stay six feet away from curlers when providing instruction. If instructors must come within 6 feet of curlers they will be required to make it a “brief interaction”. So come together but quickly separate.

* Instructors will wear masks at all times.

*All curlers (and assigned instructors and volunteers) are delegated into at least two mini-pods (of no more than 20 in each pod) . Each pod cannot interact with the other pod.

* PODS will be as follow:

Pod A: Little Rockers (sheet #1) and Novice Beginner (sheet #2).

Pod B: Novice Intermediate (sheet #3) Novice Advanced (sheet#4)

POD A will sit at tables #1 and #2 in section 1 at round tables by fireplace.

POD B will sit in section 2 at rectangle tables in front of glass.

There will be no interaction between these PODS.

* We ask that when finished curling that curlers, parents/caregivers, instructors, and volunteers leave the building as quickly as possible after the session or, on Sundays, after hot chocolate.

* Our Junior Coordinator will plan for volunteers and coaches to sanitize all equipment before and after practices.

We look forward to seeing all curlers back on the ice. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to cornwallcurling@eastlink.ca

Thank you for your patience as we continue to find our way through these unusual times.
