STRATFORD, Ont. – P.E.I.’s representatives at the Canadian junior curling championships went into Sunday night’s draw looking for their first wins.

Matthew MacLean and his rink from the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary and the Cornwall Curling Club’s Katie Fullerton each lost their first two round-robin games. Fullerton took Newfoundland and Labrador (0-2) while MacLean met the Northwest Territories (0-2).
MacLean lost 9-4 to British Columbia’s Tyler Tardi on Saturday, and 7-6 to Northern Ontario’s Tanner Horgan on Sunday afternoon.MacLean and his teammates, Alan MacLean, second stone Noah O’Connor and lead Jordan MacLean, will face Saskatchewan (1-1) in Monday’s morning draw and New Brunswick (1-1) in the afternoon.The Fullerton team, also consisting of Chloe McCloskey, Sabrina Smith and Aleya Quilty, dropped an 8-6 decision to Nova Scotia’s Mary Laura Fay (3-0) on Saturday. Sunday, Saskatchewan’s Kourtney Fesser (2-1) scored three in the eighth end and then stole a deuce in the 10th end to erase a 5-2 deficit after seven ends and win 7-6.
Fullerton meets Ontario (1-1) on Monday morning and British Columbia (2-0) in afternoon action.
