This weekend, the Cornwall Curling Club will be declaring our women’s and men’s representatives to compete in the Provincial Curling Club Championships. Two teams, skipped by Shirley Berry and Debbie Rhodenhizer, will compete in the women’s event, while four rinks, skipped by Mark MacDonald, Elliot Doiron, Rob Gallant and Steve vanOuwerkerk will contest the men’s. The format for both events is a Double Knockout.Here are the team rosters:

Due to uncertain weather conditions on Friday evening (ice pellets, freezing rain, rain), and the current poor travel conditions across the Island, that evening’s Club Championship games were postponed. The schedule has been revised with the first games of the Women’s and Men’s events (MacDonald vs Doiron, Gallant vs vanOuwerkerk and Berry vs Rhodenhizer) played at 4:00 pm Saturday. The revised schedule will see all teams also playing at 7:30 pm Saturday. Sunday matches are at 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. If a deciding men’s game 7 is required, it will be held at a later date and time.

The Provincial Championship will take place from March 6 – 10 at the Charlottetown Curling Complex, with the provincial winners advancing to the national event in November at a location yet to be announced.
