Team UPEI Women, skipped by Cornwall’s Sabrina Smith, lost their opener 8-3 to UNB, but rebounded with a come-from-behind win against Saint Mary’s, trailing 6-1 after 5 ends, but taking four points in the sixth and stealing the seventh and eighth ends to pull out a 7-6 win.

Team UPEI Men, skipped by Christopher Gallant, had only one game on opening day, against St. FX, winning it handily – 11-3 in six ends.
