The Food Bank Elves say Thank You to Cornwall Curling Club Members!

Well….. the busy Cornwall Food Bank Elf (and Cornwall Curling Club member!), the personable and wonderful Eugene Murphy dropped by 29 CORNWALL Road today to pick up some donations for the food bank. The donations were generously donated to by our members as a part of our 2nd Annual Food Drive.

Today Eugene brought another elf along with him~ his lovely wife Paula!

It was so special to catch up with the Murphies… married for almost 53 years (he was smitten right away!), two wonderful children… who they are so very proud of~ a Physiotherapist, and a teacher (like her Mom and Dad!) , and three grandchildren they adore !

Paula shared some experienced insight on being a middle teacher for many years , and Eugene (always a fun story teller!) reflected back on the carefree days of university life!

The conversation was reciprocal and easy, and was a sweet interlude of lives lived apart that were brought together by….

Community.

This is our club. Beautiful people doing good deeds.

Eugene noted he was so overwhelmed and touched by our club’s Food Bank Drive response … noting the generosity of our members has been so very touching and much needed.

Today Eugene and Paula picked up a filled envelope that had been previously presented to Daytime Committee Chair Paul Durant from the O’Connor Glass Cornwall Classic Committee Chairs, Robbie and Jennifer Lenentine.

Eugene and Paula also picked up an envelope of donated funds from our generous members ~ many who donated their refunded Christmas luncheon funds.

The kindness and generosity of our club members has been nothing short of exceptional.

Thank you to members Ernie Dunsford, Paul Doresy, Jean Anderson, Kimball Blanchard, and Debbie Rhodenhizer for your kind donations.
Thank you to David and Margaret O’Connor for sponsoring the Cornwall Classic, giving us an opportunity to raise funds for those in need.
Thank you to Jennifer and Robbie Lenentine for organizing the event, and your efforts in raising funds for the food bank.

We have the best club members.

Including the cheerful and kind elves, Eugene and Paula, who visited us today!
