Upcoming season – sneak peek

There will be more over the next week or two,  but here’s a sneak peek at what is happening at the Cornwall Curling Club for the upcoming season:

Clubhouse construction is continuing, and curling will commence without the clubhouse being completely finished, which will not happen until the Town takes possession of the new building on Nov. 26.

Returning members registration night:  Oct. 12, new members registration Oct. 19.  Locations to be determined.

Membership fees to be same as last year, except for a $5 increase to cover additional fees from the CCA and PEICA.

Ice plant startup is projected for Oct. 1o with ice availability around Oct. 24.  A new state-of-the-art ice plant is being installed. Jet Ice will be back!

New junior coordinators and junior program volunteers will be required this year.  Looking at holding Little Rocks and Novice on Sunday afternoons from 1-3, with older Juniors playing on Thursday afternoon.

Major events:  this season we are hosting the Atlantic University Curling Championship January 13-15,  and the Labatt Tankard Provincial Men’s Curling Championship January 26-31. As well,  Cornwall’s Lorianne Davies rink will be participating in the national The Dominion Curling Club Championships, Nov. 21-26 in Richmond BC.
