The Wednesday night Ladder League will get underway on October 28th, with Qualifier Night, where teams will play other teams chosen at random, with the winning teams going into the A pool, and the runners-up going to the B division. We have a full draw of 18 teams, with one team from each pool of nine receiving a bye each night (please use the bye teams for spares!). All games will be eight ends, with draws at 6:30 and 8:30, with the exception of Qualifier Night, where we will have to accommodate an extra two teams, which we will do by having three six-end games on ice one, with draw times of 6, 7:30, and 9 pm (those who were in the league last year will be familiar with these ice times!). After the teams are pooled, they will play a round robin against the other teams in their pool. It takes nine weeks to run a full round robin (you play eight other teams, plus the bye), so we will not be able to fit in three full round robins (we’ll work out the schedule later), so you may not play everyone in your pool on a particular round. At the end of each round, the bottom three teams from the A pool will trade places with the top three teams from the B pool. No curling on Dec. 30th. Teams will be awarded three points for a win, one for a loss, and zero for a loss by default. Scores will also be recorded, and used only for tie breaking. Prizes for A pool winner and runner-up each round, plus B pool winner in final round.
