We’re busy getting prepared for another season of curling here at the Cornwall Curling Club. Our Club, which emphasizes the social and recreation aspects of the sport (although we have some winning teams on the competitive side, too!) had the largest membership of any curling facility on PEI last season, but are always looking for new members. We have a huge daytime curling membership, both in single entry morning curling where teams are made up as players arrive, and in our competitive daytime team curling league, along with a very successful junior program (our junior women’s team are two-time PEI champs), and a full slate of single entry and team curling evening leagues as well. Our afternoon two-person stick curling teams have won Canadian championships in this exciting new sport that almost everyone can play!

Our new president, Frank Martin, and the Board of Directors are meeting on September 10 to finalize the details, but here are some of the dates we are looking at for season startup and other events (we will have more details on each as the season approaches):
Registration for returning members: October 8
Curling School: October 14, 15, 16 – free evening adult curling lessons – come any or all nights. No obligation. Registration for new members will also take place at this time.
Daytime Curling start date: October 14
Evening curling start: Oct 19
Drop-In Curling Nights: Oct 17, Nov 7, Jan 9, Feb 20 (anyone can come – will be a drop in fee for non-members)
Mixed Doubles Bonspiel: Nov 15 (in advance of the provincial championships which are scheduled for Dec. 12-14 in Crapaud)
Provincial Masters (host club): Jan 16-20
Bonspiel: January 30-31
Closing Spiel: March 27-28
We’ll also be stocking our Pro Shop in advance of the new season, so be sure to come by in October to check out the latest equipment and clothing, and start your season off in style!
