Whether you were rooting for Kevin Koe to defy Father Time or cheering for Matt Dunstone to finally shake that monkey off his back, the 2026 Brier final was a dandy. And for those of you competing in the Cornwall Brier Pick’Em Pool, the drama on the ice was matched only by the chaos on the leaderboard.
Here is a recap of how the final stones settled for our pool participants.
It was a down to the wire finish, with the lead changing hands throughout the playoff bracket.
Coming into the final, Jennifer Lenentine, aka “Jenny from the Block” held a razor thin one point lead over her daughter. For Jennifer, the championship was hers to lose. Alas, she was “fooled by the rocks that she’s got,” placing her faith in Team Koe.
Lauren, meanwhile, had the right read on the ice, siding with Dunstone to take the crown and reign supreme over the 2026 Brier Pick’Em.
Jack MacFadyen played it smart, riding the Dunstone train through both games of the day to secure a well earned spot on the podium.
Phillip McInnis entered the final day in the lead but hit a bit of turbulence with his Jacobs pick in the semi-finals. A tactical pivot to Dunstone for the big game saved the day, keeping him firmly in the money.
A massive thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s pool or followed along from the sidelines.
